The liver and kidneys, two organs that act in "fight or flight" mode, are the principal places in the body where fat is burned.


When meal intake is limited and blood sugar levels are high, the body begins to burn stored fat for energy rather than glucose from carbohydrates (glucose provides immediate energy).


Fat is catabolized (broken down) in the liver and converted to a fatty acid that the body can use for energy when it is burned.

My Weight Loss Journey


For almost 11 years, I've been overweight. Year after year, the pounds began to pile on, especially after I began working night hours.
